This Saturday, June 6, Kent County Chapter 850 of the Vietnam Veterans of
America will sponsor a motorcycle poker run to benefit the Kent County Vietnam
memorial. The run, which can include motorcycles, trucks and cars, will start at
the VFW in Milford, (sign up between 8 - 10a.m.) and go through Bowers Beach,
Dover, and end at Mike's Famous Harley Davidson in Smyrna around noon, where
there will be an open house.
At 1 p.m. prizes for the top three poker hands will be awarded.
First place is $200 and a memorial brick (value $75) at the Dover site;
Second place is $100 and a memorial brick.
Third place is a memorial brick

Milford VFW on Saturday morning from 8 to 10 am. Registration is $20 and
includes a special memorial pin
At 10 a.m. VVA Chapter 850 Vice President Woody Postle will present a plaque
to WWII veterans of American Legion Walter L. Fox Post, Dover, in remembrance of
the D-Day invasion at Normandy. The presentation will take place at the VVA
memorial site.

RAFFLE: Vietnam Veteran Chapter 850 members were at
Old Dover Days to sell raffle tickets for the Piggy BBQ Smoker in support of the Kent County Memorial. The next event
to raffle the Piggy BBQ Smoker will be at Dover Downs during race weekend. Come
by and enter for a chance to win. The winner will be drawn on Veterans Day.


Above is a rendition of the new Vietnam Memorial for Kent County. There
are Vietnam Memorials in New Castle and Sussex Counties, however Kent County
does not have one. Over $100,000 still needs to be raised. The
Delaware VVA Chapter 850 has organized several fund raising events to help raise funds.

PHOTOS: Felton Fire Hall Fried Oyster & Dumpling Dinner and Auction. On Friday Nov 21st, the Delaware VVA Chapter 850 held a dinner and auction at
the Felton Fire Hall. There was a packed room and everyone had a good
time at the auction.
PHOTOS: A "Family Event" was hosted by Vietnam Veteran Chapter 850 in Dover. The
event turned out to be a great success.
